My goal is to have all our K-5 students and guests be able to hear our school’s electric keyboard in performances. As we return to in school and evening performances an amplifier would aid greatly in a performance.

Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 525

Until this grant, we were never able to use the electric piano outside for a performance.  This has changed now.  Our first performance using the amplifier was on Veterans Day.  Approximately 525 students, additional teachers, parents and special guests were able to hear it during our program.  A student played it during the singing of the National Anthem while everyone in attendance sang.  We were able to use it for additional outside programs in April and May.  It has been helpful to use as a classroom tool each day in our Kindergarten through 5th classes.  This allows us more more flexibility in planning our performances in the future.  This will also lead to more students being the accompanist for our programs at Lake Park Elementary School.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

My goal is to have all our K-5 students and guests be able to hear our school’s electric keyboard in performances. As we return to in school and evening performances an amplifier would aid greatly in a performance.

What will be done with my students

Our keyboard that we use in music class works well with single class of students. Due to the pandemic situation, we have not performed music presentations for the past two years. Beginning this year, we will again begin to perform musical programs with each grade level in our cafeteria or outside courtyard area. Each program will include anywhere from 75 to 95 students performing to an audience of several hundred. Students will also be able to adequately hear and participate when our whole school is together singing. In order for the performers to sing with the music and the audience being able to hear everything, amplification is necessary for our keyboard to be heard.

Benefits to my students

The students will be able to perform to the best of their ability and successfully demonstrate what they have been learning. This should be satisfying to the students and encourage them to continue to participate in musical activities.

Budget Narrative

This amplifier is of medium quality and should work well for our needs at Lake Park Elementary School.
