Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 100

Students were able to have a marketplace style event. It was the first year we were able to hold an event that looked like an official business expo. Students tables were set up in a square with their table cloths and balloons around with the sign at the entrance. The event was a success as each group sold out of their products with all groups being able to understand how to form their business and understand what is needed to make a profit.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To help students understand how to market their products to other students/staff at the school before and during the marketplace day event. The students will have tables that their businesses are stationed to sell their products. 

 

What will be done with my students

During the course of the semester, students develop a product idea, create a business plan, market and advertise their product/business throughout the school. They will then sell their products at school in December. The goal of this class is to provide students with the opportunity to learn how to start a business. Most of the materials will be able to be used in multiple years. 

 

Benefits to my students

This grant will allow for more resources to improve student marketing of their products and as well as a better layout/advertisement during the marketplace day event. It will further allow the marketplace day event to feel more like a business expo. 

 

Budget Narrative

Balloons will be placed around to enhance the atmosphere of the event. The table cloth will provide a solid layout for students to add decoration to their tables. The various product design materials will be used for the students to create a packaging on their product to include items like a labels, business logo, or packaging. The banner stand will allow for an official entrance to the marketplace day or newly created business expo.
