Goal

Our goal is to reduce the number of disruptive behaviors in the classroom and improve their social development. We hope that adding recess at the middle school level will improve their memory and attention to help them stay on topic in class.

What will be done with my students

"Where a kid can be a kid!" Students will be able to increase their physical activity and socialization skills through recess after lunch. Recess offers children the opportunity to be physically active, which is not only beneficial for their physical health but also their mental health

Benefits to my students

During the 35 minute lunch students will be able to choose to head outside to the recess field for socialization, exercise and fresh air. Recess provides children with the opportunity to exert energy in a healthy way. Recess is a break from the structure and expectations of school, children have the chance to take control of their world, even if only for a short time.
