Goal

The goal is get students more engaged in their individual learning and reading goals. 

What will be done with my students

Students use a variety of resources to help them succeed in reading and language arts. In intensive reading, students are hesitant to completer their computer work because they don't want other students to hear their individual reading curriculum on their laptops. This grant will help secure all my students their own earbuds to help them hear their individual classwork during their computer rotation, and give students the confidence necessary to navigate their work without feeling embarrassed in class.
I will incorporate journaling into the class. This will allow students to write down their successes or failures. They can keep track of how they are doing in the class in terms of grades, GPA, and progress monitoring to ensure they are successful on their state exam. Students can also share thoughts and feeling in their journals to help them better deal with their social emotional health. 

Benefits to my students

1. More motivation to complete their classwork.
2. Less embarrassment about not being at the same level as their classmates.
3. Earbuds would stay in the class so there is no risk of students not having their proper materials.
4. Journaling will help students track their progress within the classroom.
