Impact to My Classroom

Impact on classroom

A huge thank you to Florida License for learning License Plate Fund for your wonderful contribution of $383.04 to Golden Gate’s Elementary Art classroom. My students this school year were able to use unique materials they have never even seen before because of your generous donation. With this grant my students were able to add more color to Golden Gate’s halls and the walls of community partners.

My students had a blast using tempera sticks, something they have never used before to make banners for GGE’s hallways and school wide events. Creating banners helped beautify our campus and give students leadership roles when working as a team. With this grant it gave my students the chance to expand their creative techniques as well. My kindergartners were able to learn about liquid glue in a more controlled style with dot lids. Fourth and fifth grade were able to do more challenging projects using paper plates (circle weaving and scratch art). All my students had the freedom to explore the painting world with durable paper and new brushes. Bigger brushes helped students with sensory, fine motor and other disabilities have control over painting. Smaller brushes helped older more advanced students add details they weren’t be able to before.

The list of impact in the art room could go on and on… I just want to add how extremely grateful my GGE Seagulls and I are for this opportunity to grow in the art room!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

The goal of this request is to provide Golden Gate Elementary students the opportunity to beautify their school campus. With the materials listed students will be able to participate in more community display events and help create banners for the schools hallways/yearly events.

What will be done with my students

Students will be able to create inside the art room using materials they have never used before. These materials will give the students a chance to manipulate more than one media when creating art instillations for Golden Gates hallways and the surrounding community. Tempera sticks will be used to create colorful school spirit banners and banners for family events made by the students! Dot glue lids will be used to help younger Seagulls use liquid glue for the first time without the gooey mess. Students will be able to explore color theory with the use of primary tempera paint and different size brushes to discover brush strokes. The mixed media paper will give the students a chance to experience how the thickness and durability of paper helps enhance their artwork. Paper plates will be used as a loom in weaving future projects.

Benefits to my students

Students all ages will be able to use materials they might have never been able to use before. These materials and tools will give my students the chance to expand their techniques inside the art classroom. The huge take away for my students is also just giving them the leadership role in creating banners and art work to make their campus a little bit more colorful!

Budget Narrative

Listed are just simple tools and materials to give Golden Gate a little beautification. Tempera sticks will be used on banners, plates, paint brushes, mixed media paper, paint and glue on lesson specific projects.
Thank you for helping my Seagulls grow in the art room!
