Goal

The goal is to provide students additional recess opportunities which promotes a sense of belonging, and further development of social and emotional skills. This includes: taking turns, sharing, understanding a different perspective, working as a team to accomplish a goal.  

What will be done with my students

During recess time students will be able to rotate through a variety of games that allow students the opportunity to work with one another and help to build a sense of belonging between students. During recess, having the opportunity to engage in alternative games give students different experiences and allows students to celebrate with one another to achieve team and group goals.  

Benefits to my students

These games will benefit students during recess by helping student develop stronger interpersonal skills, communication skills, perspective taking. It also allows students to work with one another and develop a plan, and strategy to achieve the ultimate goal in some of the games listed.

All of these games can be played with multiple students, and it will help students feel connected and increase students' sense of belonging on Parkside Elementary School's Campus.  

Budget Narrative

The budget narrative includes a variety of outdoor recess games that can be played by the students which require cooperation, communication and teamwork. All of the materials can be ordered from Amazon.
