Goal
To enhance my classroom library with culturally diverse books for students to personally connect to in order to become better readers and writers.
What will be done with my students
Students will have access to books that are culturally diverse. Books will be used as read alouds and mentor texts that align with grade level standards. Students will be able to create text to self connections with selected books, and use these connections in writing prompts. Using the books will allow students to use text evidence to enhance their writing skills.
Benefits to my students
Books are culturally diverse, introducing students to a wide range of topics. Students will be able to make personal connections from the books chosen, and enhance writing pieces by using text evidence.
