Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 25

Every day, my students use their dry erase boards and markers for phonics lessons, handwriting, and math lessons. The studnets enjoy using the whiteboards. It keeps them actively engaged and allows me to quickly scan their work to see if they are masterig the learning goals. Since we use the markers frequently, they often run out of ink. The grant allowed me to purchase markers to give to my students when needed.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

Studnets go through many dry erase markers each year. I would like to have each student have about 8 markers.

What will be done with my students

We use the markers each day, especially in phonics and math. Students use the markers to write a word, a sentence, or solve a problem. They children are actively engaged and I can quickly scan their boards and see if they have mastered the problem or skiill. It is fun for the students and it helps me provide instant feedback.

Benefits to my students

Student participation and active engagement
Corrections easily made and rechecked
Provides feedback to students
Motivates students
Great tool for checking for understanding

Budget Narrative

At the present time, the markers cost $11.91 on Amazon. I would like to have each student have about 8 markers. I would need to purchase 17 boxes. The cost would be $202.47, with tax $215.12
