Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 14

Our class was funded a year of  Scholastic News magazines. We use the magazines during reading and centers, to align with the standards being taught throught the year. Students have enjoyed the comprehension activities that correspond to the monthly issues. The students are able to make real world connections to the text information, and answer questions on a wide range of topics.

Goal

To give students access to a variety of real world topics.  

 

What will be done with my students

Students will have access to age appropriate news articles to utilize within the classroom for various subjects.  

 

Benefits to my students

Students will enhance literacy and real-world applications of content that is relevant an current.  

 

Budget Narrative

Total cost is for a one year subscription for all students to receive a personal copy of the magazine.
