Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 18

Thanks to your generous donation to our classroom, my young students have had the opportunity to practice their reading skills using fun and engaging hands-on activities instead of just worksheets. These Complete Center resources have allowed them to increase and improve their letters and letter sounds as well as blending and segmenting syllables, identifying rhyme, CVC words and so much more. Once again, thank you for your support. You have made a difference in the way my students are learning to read. We are extremely grateful!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

Help me instill a love for learning and reading by providing my Kindergarteners with the hands-on resources they need to become successful readers! 

 

What will be done with my students

These literacy center activities will provide my young students the opportunity to build their literacy skills in a fun and engaging way. They will be using these literacy center activities during small groups. Students will be learning and practicing skills such as letter recognition, letter matching, beginning sounds, and building CVC words. 

 

Benefits to my students

My students are a wonderful and diverse group of children. More than fifty percent of my students are learning English as a second language. They are also experiencing school for the first time in a new country. These literacy center activities will make their learning experience fun and engaging, allowing them the opportunity to practice their reading skills using hands-on materials instead of just worksheets.
