Goal
The goal for this grant is to equip students and teachers as they provide assistance to injured peers while waiting for professional, medical help to arrive after an active assailant event.
What will be done with my students
Students will be trained in how to apply tourniquets, pack a wound, pressure application, and the use of a variety of items to help slow or stop blood loss.
Benefits to my students
Critical thinking, problem solving, kindness, and selflessness are important. The training will allow for these character traits to develop. These first aid techniques will benefit the student's knowledge on how to provide assistance to injured bystanders. Their quick reaction, preparation and knowledge may help save the life/lives of individuals in their classroom, school, home, or out in the community and across the world.
Budget Narrative
These items were priced from the Walmart.com's website. The military pack is the starter and most similar conventional equipment shared at my training. The other items are the unconventional items that were used at the training. In the "real world" students will find the unconventional items more readily available and be able to use to save a life.
