Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 800

As I reflect on the outcome of this grant, I have observed an increase in a desire to learn how to play the game of Pickle Ball and what that means is students will have the opportunity to make healthy choices for increased physical activity.  During Physical Education classes the students have been practicing the basic eye hand coordintation skills and footwork for striking activities so by having new equipement the students have set up mini pickleball matches and tournaments.

The benefits of Pickle Ball For All has promoted a healthy lifestyle because the game is easy to learn and the game engages students who like competition as well as students who would just like to participate in a pro-social environment.  I have been able to observe introverted students become leaders because they have experienced immediate feedback by making contact with the paddle and the ball.  This immediate feedback encourages the students to continue to move their muscles which in turn improves their physical, mental and social wellness.

Highland students are proactive leaders in the community so we hope to share Pickle Ball For All with the other Immokalee schools.  In addition we hope to be a part of the kids fun day next year at the Pickle Ball For All Championship Tournament!

With sincere grattitude to all the sponsors,

Mrs. Jefferson also known as "Coach Mimi"

Goal

The goal for Pickle ball for all is to focus on educating a vulnerable community about the benefits of living an active healthy lifestyle.
The game of Pickle ball is a pro- social sport that brings people together in an environment that nurtures parents, students and teachers of all skill levels.

What will be done with my students

During Physical Education class and recess time, the students will have the opportunity to play one of the fastest growing sports in America. By learning how to play the game of Pickle Ball, the students will be proactive about their activity choices during recess, after school, and pe classes.
The Highland Leaders will be able to apply new knowledge which in turn will engage student learning and increase physical activity.

Benefits to my students

The benefits of Pickle ball For All promotes a healthy lifestyle because the game is easy to learn and the game engages students who like competition as well as students who would just like to participate in a pro- social environment.
