Impact to My Classroom

Because of the class set of SSYRA books I received my students were reading challenging, more difficult books and understanding them! It's a struggle to get some of my kids to sit down and just read but they did when the SSYRA books arrived! I've seen student's reading fluency and comprehension improve because they were actively reading books leveled for fifth graders and above.

I really appreciate what you've done for my students. Because of you, so many of them reached different goals with the SSYRA books because you made them available to the students.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

My goal is to provide my students with copies of the SSYRA (Sunshine State Young Readers Award) books.

What will be done with my students

My students will have the opportunity to read the SSYRA books. Our school holds a big competition for the students every year and I have many kids that want to read all 15 books. The more the students read the more special their prize becomes.

Benefits to my students

The project will benefit my students by giving them a variety of books to choose from when it's reading time.

Budget Narrative

This grant will provide us with all 15 SSYRA and each fifth grade class will be able to read them.
