Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 83

Because every student had a brand new white board for the science fair we had some outstanding experiments this year! I can't thank you enough for providing this opportunity to our students. We had an outstanding science fair this year, it was truly difficult to chose the winners. The boards looked spectacular with all of the pictures and reports printed out.

Thank you!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

My goal is to provide all of our fifth grade students with the display boards, ink and paper they need for the science fair.

What will be done with my students

Every year the fifth graders at Avalon Elementary participate in the science fair. Students need display boards to neatly display all of their information from their experiments.
We always want the students to take pride in their work and turn in neat looking work. They'll need ink and paper so they can type up their information, print it out and neatly display it on their boards.
Students conduct their experiments, keep track of their findings and work on displaying what they have discovered on their boards.
This process takes a good month. Students will diligently work on their experiments and displaying their information.
The last step to our science fair is science fair day! The students will proudly display their boards for all of the school and parents to see! We invite other grade levels and parents in to see the science fair displays and listen to the student's presentations. While the students are presenting we have a group of judges walking around judging the experiments.
At our fifth grade moving up ceremony we announce the first, second and third place awards for our science fair.
This is a fun time for our students and they look forward to the science fair all year!

Benefits to my students

The science fair is a great benefit for all of our students. It allows them to take ownership of their learning. They are so proud of the work they have accomplished and they love showing it off! We will gladly invite you in the day of the science fair to see how our student's hard work has paid off all year!
