Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 55

The students were able to view "life" from a different point of view.  They were able to travel through the brain, visit far away places, and even escape from dinosaurs.  The glasses allowed them to see things that they would have never seen and appreciate the technology that is currently available.  The kids were inspired to earn the time to use the glasses and as a results was a huge incentive to have them go above and beyond.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

Give the students an opportunity to go on virtual field trips. With the google cardboard glasses we can turn the smart phone into a virtual trip.

What will be done with my students

Students will gain background knowledge or experience once in a lifetime experiences. This can apply to any subject, social studies, math, science, reading, and writing. They will be able to use smart phones and be virtually transported to a number of virtual field trips available for free.

Benefits to my students

Our school is a Title I school (low socio-economic). We struggle with lack of background knowledge and lack of funds to go on trips. Using the available technology we can shorten the gap with the students and have them engaged with the activity or assignment.

Budget Narrative

purchase google cardboard glasses. A set of 6, can be used in rotation and allow all students to benefit from them.
