Goal

To enhance our JROTC drum corps so that we can provide better ceremonial support to our community 

What will be done with my students

We will use the 15 practice drum pads to ramp up our level of training/teaching. We currently have 3 drums and 2 sets of cymbals. However, we have up to 30 cadets who are interested in Drum Corps. We simply don't have enough equipment to properly train everyone. Also, practicing on the drums and cymbals can put too much wear and tear on the equipment. I have a volunteer who is training our kids to become so much better than they have ever been before. What he is teaching us is amazing and will enable to do some really cool shows/exhibitions here in town. From our fundraising money, I just purchased a metronome, 10 sets of drumsticks and some other equipment worth close to $300. My volunteer says these practice pads are essential to our success...and he has been on target so far. I just don't have the fundraising $$$ to get the practice drum pads too along with other supplies we need. 

Benefits to my students

The drum pads will allow us to train far more cadets than we can now and also preserve the equipment we have on hand. 2 years ago we received a grant from the Champions for learning for our drum corps and we want to do whatever we can to extend the life of our musical equipment.
