Goal

Achieve to Succeed will instill the benefits of educational excellence and personal success by providing Immokalee High School students with recognition, rewards, and scholarships for academic achievement along with positive behavior and good attendance. 

What will be done with my students

The project relates to the mission of The Immokalee Foundation by providing support to Immokalee High School students as they strive to reach their personal and educational goals. It fosters an atmosphere for student success, provides motivation for students, recognizes academic achievement, behavior, and attendance, and helps promote a positive self-image. All of these are important as we prepare these young men and women to graduate from high school and go forward with their lives, whether through traditional college or career training. Without this program, many of our students would never get the encouragement and motivation they need in order to meet their fullest potential.  

Benefits to my students

Achieve and Succeed measures the success of its program by calculating grade point averages for those students who have received A’s, B’s, and C’s quarter. Each grading period will show an increase in the number of students who qualify for the program. Some of the most significant aspects of Achieve and Succeed cannot be measured qualitatively. The students develop a distinction of being truly proud as they are excited to earn their t-shirts, and other incentives. This recognition provides an intrinsic value and supports the impetus for students to Achieve and Succeed.  

Budget Narrative

The budget celebrates student academic success and instills a sense or pride and achievement. Additionally, academic achievers are those students who have the desire, but need encouragement, that they, too, can be college and career successes. This program instills a sense of confidence that provides students with further steps leading to college and university achievement.
