The goal of this grant will be to provide our students with a quick and easy way to build a prototype for their business idea. The Entrepreneurship and Business Ownership classes I'm teaching allow our students to take an idea, work in a group to vet it out, prototype it, and eventually, at the end of the year, present their business to a panel of investors. Halfway through the year the groups will be presenting their MVP's (Minimum Viable Products) to judges who will critique and advise. The ability to have a 3-D printer will allow our students to build prototypes to help support their idea and prove it viable.

We are a Title 1 school and our students would love and appreciate such an awesome edition to our classroom.

What will be done with my students

The students will be working in groups to take an idea and build it into an actual business. At the end of the year the students will then have the opportunity to pitch their businesses to a panel of investors, Shark Tank style. We will work through all aspects of business creation including prototyping and validation of their business idea. This is where the 3-D printer will be an invaluable edition to our classroom and one the students will immensely appreciate.

Benefits to my students

The benefit of this grant will be our ability to provide our students with the 3-D printer they need to accomplish the above mentioned goals. My kids have ideas that will change the way we do things and impact their local community in such a profound and positive way. We are working towards a common goal and the printer this grant will allow us to provide to our students will allow them to reach them.

Budget Narrative

The $350 will be used to purchase the Micro 3-D printer for my classroom. I'm not sure what else you need in this section but I'd be happy to answer any other questions you may have. You can email me at evansp1@collierschools.com. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
