Goal
My goal is to help my struggling students as well as challenge my students who easily master concepts. I want my students to want to read. I want them to feel confident and learn to love to read! That all can be done with iPad minis!
What will be done with my students
My students love to be read to! There is an app called overdrive that can do this for students! The overdrive app will be downloaded onto the iPads and the students will have instant access to our media center's books and the public library's books! Students can check electronic books out and listen to the book on the iPad while following along.
Getting read to is just one of the many things that can be done with an iPad. There is a game called Kahoot where the students use iPads to compete against each other in quiz type games. The students love to see which team will have the most points and will win the quiz game!
Benefits to my students
By being able to listen to the stories online and follow along with the online book my student's fluency, reading comprehension and background knowledge will greatly improve! My students will love to read and will be successful!
