My goal is to continue to provide my students the opportunity to learn organizational skills that will assist them all through life. This life skill is so important and needs to be taught at an early age. By using color coded folders stored in their seat sacks, students will be ready to go immediately. Down time is reduced. I have used the same seat sacks for the last 10 years and now MUST replace them due to the fact they are on their last "thread"!

Goal

My goal is to continue to provide my students the opportunity to learn organizational skills that will assist them all through life. This life skill is so important and needs to be taught at an early age. By using color coded folders stored in their seat sacks, students will be ready to go immediately. Down time is reduced. I have used the same seat sacks for the last 10 years and now MUST replace them due to the fact they are on their last "thread"!

What will be done with my students

The students will learn the benefits of staying organized by having color coded curriculum folders; one for math, science, language arts, social studies, and writing. Each folder will hold a content specific interactive notebook. When it is time for lessons in a specific curricular area, the student will take out the appropriate folder from their seat sack and have what they need immediately. The students come to rely on being organized!!!

Benefits to my students

There are so many benefits to the students! In prior years I have seen an increase in student responsibility and self concept. Students truly come to know what they need and where to get the supplies quickly! Storage in desks cause ripped or crumpled papers, lost items, and frustration when needed things are "lost" or stuffed in the back of the desk. With the seat sack, students stay organized and are ready!

Budget Narrative

The budget items are for replacing seat sacks that were purchased 10 years ago. These new seat sacks are made with more sturdy fabrics, too. I have already purchased the coded folders and notebooks.
