Goal

To provide necessary tools to help AVID students achieve success in our AVID class as well as all other classes and beyond the classroom. Provide strategies and skills to help students be prepared for life after the classroom, whether college, military or the work force.

What will be done with my students

These necessary tools will be used to teach students and engage them in practicing problem solving skills that will have a positive effect on school work as well as beyond. The boards will be used during our biweekly student led tutorials. The WICOR strategies we use daily require these needed supplies, that many students do not have access to. This leads to success in all class classrooms, not only AVID!

Benefits to my students

The students will be able to conduct student led tutorials biweekly. The students will have the necessary tools to aid in organization and other WICOR strategies, such as good study habits. This will influence their classwork, as well as their peer's, due to their positive influence on them in the classroom.

Budget Narrative

These items will be used in AVID class to aid in our classroom as well as in all other classes. They will help us achieve our goal of implementing WICOR strategies in classes daily, as outlined in our School Improvement Plan. The boards we have now are hand me downs and several have no stands, so have to be held by students, which doesn't allow for them to be actively taking Focused Notes, and could be a potential safety hazard.
