Goal

This project will integrate LEGO BricQ Motion Essential kits into science and STEM instruction for students in grades 2–5. Students will engage in activities that allow them to explore core physical science concepts such as gravity, friction, push/pull forces, and balanced/unbalanced forces. Through building, testing, and modifying their own models, students will make learning visible and concrete.

What will be done with my students

The project will launch in November 2025 with introductory lessons using the LEGO BricQ Motion Essential kits to build foundational knowledge of forces, motion, and basic engineering principles. In December and January, students will participate in guided experiments and hands-on investigations exploring key physical science concepts such as gravity, friction, and energy transfer. During February and March, instruction will shift to collaborative design challenges where students apply their learning to build and test their own models. These activities will emphasize problem-solving and teamwork. In April and May, students will work on culminating STEM projects that integrate multiple concepts and demonstrate mastery.

By making science fun, relevant, and tangible, this project aims to inspire curiosity and confidence in STEM—building a stronger foundation for future academic success. 

 

Budget Narrative

These six kits will give each STEM class the ability to work in teams to construct and explore motion and physics through the sports theme of the kits.
