My students are launching a student-run school store to learn real-world skills in entrepreneurship, marketing, and business management. To effectively promote the store, they need access to iPads for digital design and marketing, as well as a DSLR camera for professional-quality product photography and promotional videos. With these tools, students will gain 21st-century skills that prepare them for future careers in business, media, and technology.

Goal

My students are launching a student-run school store to learn real-world skills in entrepreneurship, marketing, and business management. To effectively promote the store, they need access to iPads for digital design and marketing, as well as a DSLR camera for professional-quality product photography and promotional videos. With these tools, students will gain 21st-century skills that prepare them for future careers in business, media, and technology.

What will be done with my students

Product Photography: Students will use the DSLR camera to capture high-quality photos of merchandise for advertising.

Graphic Design & Social Media Marketing: Students will use iPads to design posters, flyers, and digital advertisements for the school community.

Video Production: Students will create short promotional videos to showcase products and highlight special events or sales.

Entrepreneurship Practice: Students will apply marketing strategies learned in class to increase sales and customer engagement. 

 

Benefits to my students

Enhance Marketing Skills – Students will learn to create professional-level promotional content using iPads and a DSLR camera.

Increase Student Engagement – Hands-on access to technology will motivate students to take ownership of the school store and its success.

Develop 21st-Century Skills – Students will practice digital literacy, teamwork, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship.

Strengthen School Community – The school store will become a hub where students, teachers, and families can connect.

Student measurement will be determined by the following:

Increase in sales from the student-run school store after implementing marketing campaigns.

Student-created marketing materials (ads, posters, social media posts, videos).

Student reflections on what they learned about business, marketing, and technology.

Increased student engagement and ownership in the project.
