Impact to My Classroom

The students favorite center is our home station using their bright and shiny kitchen. Their kitchen time is something that expands their vocabulary with real life experiences. And it gives them the opportunity to role play and pretend which builds creativity in their learning.

The students are given the opportunity as soon as they arrive to play in this center until the bell rings and they end their day with center time in the kitchen too. Your donation has brought fun in our classroom that the students and I appreciate. Thank you.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

The goal to is to replace a classroom kitchen that was purchased at a garage sale. After using it for eight years the students would love to have their favorite center replaced.

What will be done with my students

During literacy centers the students create menu items that correlate with the letter of the week and enjoy the creative play. In the afternoon the kitchen turns into making a grocery store list and apply their math skills in forming how much item cost and how much each item will be on the menu as they serve each other.
