Impact to My Classroom

We had an amazing year in Lego Robotics thanks to our donor. We were able to purchase three new Lego Spike Robots. The Spike robots were used in the First Lego League Competition. These robots helped our team win the overall qualifying event for the first time. They also helped both of our lego teams to advance to the Northwest Florida Regional Championship.

The newer robots were easier to program and helped the students understand the coding much better. My students were able to make more complicated code and allowed them to use many more sensors than our old robot. This was the first year that my students coded the robot to use the gyro sensor, follow black lines, stop on black lines, sense colors and to make precision turning. My Lego team was so excited to see their final robot compete and we are so happy that our sponsor made this happen.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

Our goal is to aquire three new Lego Education Spike Prime sets to use in the First Lego League compitition.

What will be done with my students

We will be using these robots to compete in this years FLL competition. We are phasing out the older EV3 Robot and looking forward to working with newer technolgy.
