Goal

My goal is to get ALL of my students involved in class discussions and excited about participating in class by being able to write their responses on their very own whiteboard. 

What will be done with my students

I will use the individual student whiteboards every day during our lessons. When I ask a question, students will be able to write their answer on the individual whiteboard and hold it up for me to check. I will assign each student their own whiteboard to use every day, and store them in the classroom using the requested storage containers. 

Benefits to my students

My students will have the opportunity to submit their answers without having to speak out loud. Many students simply do not attempt to participate in class discussions for fear of public speaking, and being able to answer questions in class without having to talk will give them the chance to get involved even if they are timid to answer out loud. This will benefit not only my current 120 students, but all of the students who are in my classroom in the future. 

Budget Narrative

I am requesting:
144 student whiteboards ($232.14), 144 Dry erase Markers ($115.96), and 140 small magnetic erasers ($78.33) for students to use when answering questions in class. I am also requesting 18 Book storage bins ($109.53) and 18 supply caddies ($119.97) to use to store the individual whiteboards.
