Calvin Hunsinger is a “center” school for students with Special Education Services, who experience severe emotional and behavioral issues. Our goal is to have a School Store where students learn money management by 'earning' points based on their behavior, work completion and on task learning. Then they are able to 'spend' or 'save' their 'money' (points) at the Store. Students will learn how to spend wisely, save and budget their money so they can make solid 'financial' decisions for things that they want. Our students will record their daily “points” which translate to a banking sheet. This will ensure accurate spending and savings to allow desirable purchases in both the short term and long term. If their records are not up to date, they will not be allowed to shop at the Store. This will allow students to manage their money (points) based on their current financial situation. I believe that these skills will generalize to the real world when students begin their own financial lives. My hope is that this opportunity to manage their Store points will provide them with a model of how to make responsible decisions that will positively impact their financial futures.

My goal is to provide all my environmental science classes with access to 2 shared computers for all students. Students will work in small groups and will share the use of the 2 additional computers in the classroom. They will need to be able to use computers to conduct the required research to understand the terminology, background, and to access the necessary materials to conduct cost reducing energy plans. Students will work in small groups to develop these energy plans which will aim to not only keep costs down but also preserve the environment. For example, one energy plan assignment—reducing electricity costs—will require students to: complete the unit on renewable and non-renewable sources, learn how electricity consumption is measured by household matters, learn how to estimate the amount of time an appliance or electrical device is used and learn how to calculate cost of electricity consumption. In order to work on these assignments, students will need access to several websites (i.e., Understanding the EnerGuide label, Energy Efficiency Information) (and materials) and will also need access to tools on the computer such as financial calculators, Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
The students would benefit greatly from having these two additional computers in the classroom. I want to facilitate a safe means for kids to experiment, play, fail, collaborate and most importantly learn. Rigamajig materials have been designed to integrate academic objectives from different subject areas. As they play, students are highly motivated to think, collaborate, experiment, and build.

All Pinellas County Schools share in the same mission ‘to prepare each student for college, career, and life’. Starkey Elementary is a Title 1 school, so we are continually seeking outside opportunities to ensure our students can compete with those who are more affluent than them. By implementing coding with Rugged Robot, the students will have the opportunities to increase their knowledge of coding, problem solve, and explore careers.

I want to help make learning about history fun and exciting to my students. I want to make the lessons that we learn in the classroom relevant to them so that they can grasp the information in a way that they can apply it both in school and in life.
Civic education empowers us to be well-informed, active citizens and gives us the opportunity to change the world around us. It is a vital part of any democracy, and equips ordinary people with knowledge about our democracy and our Constitution.
I want to deliver this lesson in ways that will engage all my students in their learning style. By engaging my students in their learning style, it will help them learn the material in a way that will foster a deeper knowledge and better performance on their tests.
My goal is to help my students become better citizens.

The media center is the hub of our school, and we would like to meet the needs of the 400 diverse students. Our average age of books is 2005 and desperately needs updated. Our district book budget gets us enough books to start the school year, but we need more books to be added to our collection throughout the school year. I would like to support the classroom teachers in including books that tie into each unit as well as popular titles to encourage students' love of reading.
