To improve academic growth in mathematics by engaging students using a variety of literature, tools, instructional group structures, materials, and strategies.
By using the materials and resources included in this grant, students will be able to work in small groups with peer, small groups with staff, and/or independently to improve their math knowledge. There are opportunities for game based learning, literature to gain knowledge, as well as the supplies needed to successfully deliver instruction in small groups.
Students not only will improve their academic performance in math, they will also be engaged in such a way that they increase their love for math. Through the use of game based learning, they will enjoy mathematics more.
I teach all 4th grade students in math at my school. Therefore I have all learners. There are ESE, Gifted, ELL, low performers, high performers, as well as on level performers. We also serve low income students in our building.
To be able to successfully engage students in math, I grouped items in categories such as literature, supplies, games, and instructional teaching materials to allow the flexibility of items that may go out of stock or new literature/games/materials available.
