Goal

Our goal is to immerse our 5th grade students into STEM in action! We want them to not only have the experience that most of them have not had by going to NASA but also to see how math, science and reading take part in real world situations!

What will be done with my students

Our students will board a commercial bus from our school and travel to NASA. While there, we will see several exhibits (including the space shuttle and Saturn 5 rocket) and have lunch. The students will then finish their day and then board the commercial bus to have dinner and back to the school. It is a full day experience!

Benefits to my students

This experience sets the bar high for our students. It lets them see that school is not just a chore that you have to go to each day but purposeful. Our learning is purposeful! We will see our standards come to life through hands on exhibits, conversations with NASA employees (including an astronaut) and the activities leading up to the experience.
