Goal

To exchange the traditional desk and attached chair for a collaborative, flexible seating to allow for students to be more involved in their education.

What will be done with my students

With flexible seating, I will be able to redesign my classroom based on individual lessons and allow students to feel more connected to their classmates and also the lessons/standards/education. Students will have the ability to build relationships with their classmates to allow to build a safe environment for learning and connecting. With flexible seating it will allow for collaborative conversations and project based learning.

Benefits to my students

With flexible seating students will be able to build a safe learning environment by having the ability to connect and learn from one another. Students will also be able to interact more with the lesson and do hands on activities instead of lectured to. They will be able to connect and use the skill in the future instead of getting through a lesson.

Describe the Students

My students are Title 1 students with low income families. There is a integration of IEP, ELL as well as low and/high performers.
