Goal

The purchase of Versatiles will increase the level of differentiation and independence with my my varied student population. This promotes Pinellas County’s vision of 100% student success. MY goal is for my students to move to 3rd grade with all the skills they need, and even be above grade level.

What will be done with my students

Versatiles meet the needs of a diverse groups of students. They allow the students to practice skills and standards at their own pace an check their own work. They allow students to be come independent learners and critical thinkers. Generally Versatiles can be used for individuals, partnerships or small groups.

Benefits to my students

Versitiles provide students with a diverse set of skills needed to help close the achievement gaps. Due to the COVID slide students
are in need of diverse skills. Some student need enrichment for those already proficient, fluency practice, and will need to be retaught previous standards. Versitiles helps meet the needs of a wide range of students. My goal is to create fluent math students that can move through our educational system and prepare for jobs that do not ever exist yet.

Describe the Students

My students attend a Title One school and many come from difficult backgrounds that even we as adults cannot imagine living through. They come to school every day and leave their baggage at the door, most of the time. Some days it's hard for them to do that and I guide them through those days the best I can. My class consists of kids in the process to become ESE for various reasons, kids that are gifted and others who have struggled for years but don't qualify for ESE services. Some come from families who speak a language other than English at home. Others are students who deal with immense anger and haven't quite figured out how to manage it. My class is a beautiful mixture of students from all backgrounds and abilities and they learn to make it work better than many adults do in our society. We work together to push ourselves and learn something new everyday.

Budget Narrative

I have included a cross curricular math and literacy bundle for 1st and 2nd grade to differentiate and meet the needs of a variety of levels, an extra set of answer cases, and a Beginner reader and sight word set. This total will be 513.95 without tax and about 550 with tax.
