Goal

Our goal is to help and motivate students at school to be not only better students but better citizens which will help create a positive learning environment. We want to provide Social Emotional Lessons, activities, and incentives to help support our positive school culture and Behavior Intervention System.

What will be done with my students

Students will participate of school wide behavior/academic incentives like snow cone parties, school store, success squad (football team), Tigerettes (cheerleading), among other things that help promote and recognize positive behaviors and academic success.

Benefits to my students

When a positive school culture is created, school becomes a safe place for students to learn and be successful. Throughout the past couple of years that has been the vision here at Lakewood Elementary, where we want every student to have a safe place to learn. This has been possible thanks to our Positive Behavior Intervention System as well as for the constant Social Emotional Lessons we have with our students.

Describe the Students

For the most part our student come from low social economic families and a lot of them, even at a very young age, have experienced traumatic life experiences that prohibits them from being able to focus at school or even make it a priority.

Budget Narrative

With this money we want to be able to provide Tshirts for both our Success Squad and Tigerettes teams. Provide social emotional resources to improve the mental health of the students that have that need. We would also like to continue to provide schoolwide incentives that will help increase student's positive engagement and keep a positive school culture.
