Goal

To improve our graduation rate

What will be done with my students

Tarpon High School will implement the PBIS rewards system schoolwide. This system implements a reward system for the great behaviors students display each and everyday. We will focus on Attendance and being to class on time. Data shows that students who are in class each and everyday directly improves testing scores and ultimately graduation rate for the better. This is a positive support system that creates an atmosphere at school that the students want to be apart of. This ultimately improves attendance, tardies and negative behaviors in school, which leads to positive learning taking place,

Benefits to my students

Students will be rewarded for the great things they do at Tarpon Springs High School. Students will earn PBIS points for the good things they do at Tarpon HS. Students can use the points for planned parties at school and the school store. PBIS rewards system keeps track of points the students earn. Every adult on campus can reward points to our students. The Boys Town model and data says to reward students at a ratio of 4 positives for the 1 negative. This also has proven to be affective in changing negative behaviors in even the toughest of students.

Describe the Students

Tarpon Springs High school has over 120 students with disabilities and is a very multi-cultural school. We have a high population of Greek Students and we love all of them to death. We want to lead the way in Pinellas County and become a PBIS rewards school. The cost of the PBIS rewards system is approx. $3,300. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Budget Narrative

Tarpon Springs would like to purchase the PBIS Rewards App and to implement it schoolwide. We are confident this will have a positive impact on the learning and the success of our students.
