I would like to be able to purchase some quality children's books for my classroom. The previous class I was in was split and all of the books were purchased by the other teacher, so of course, she took them with her. I have an amazing engaging curriculum and I am lacking some of the materials needed to properly engage the children. I also need more floor puzzles, table top puzzles, and crafting supplies.
We read every day, sometimes more than once. I am trying to teach my students to have a love for reading and books. I feel that I will better serve them if I am able to purchase quality children's literature to use in my classroom.
The children also enjoy the many different crafts that we do on a daily basis. I would love to see their creativity grow if I am able to provide them with different supplies.
Puzzles is a classroom favorite. We have about 3 floor puzzles and I would be thrilled if I could increase this inventory and let the children pick from many different floor puzzles.
Loving to read and be read to has countless benefits. I want to get them excited about books! Children who are read to develop a higher competency for learning in multiple environments. It has clear cognitive benefits but it also strengthens social, emotional and character development.
Floor puzzles will enhance physical skills, helps to develop a smart interrelation in hand eye coordination and helps extend overall cognitive development.
Crafting provides stress relief, it is a confidence booster and increases empathy.
Our students are low performers.
I would like to spend $700 on books, $150 on craft items and $150 on floor puzzles. If you would like an itemized list of each item, please let me know.
