Goal

To properly outfit the music and sound engineering set up for the Seminole High School Warhawk Marching Band!

What will be done with my students

The Warhawk Marching Band is the pride of Seminole High School. We rehearse 4-6 days a week, perform at football games, and compete in State and National Circuits. In order to create the best product possible, we depend on instruments and materials that we fundraise for, as well as the amazing Pinellas Referendum, supported by the people of our county. As we spend money to provide all of these resources, often times the additional expense of "small detail" items is a heartbreaking luxury that we cannot afford. Items such as XLR cables, microphone stands, velcro loops, specialty bolts, valve oil, valve guides, leaking pads, reeds, and mallets- the list goes on and on- are the small expenses that make a marching band truly successful but often times we run out of money on big ticket items before we can actually purchase the tiny things.

Benefits to my students

This very meaningful grants would enable our students to have the materials they need to put on a world class production. They are so deserving of this because they are dedicated to each other, care about each other, and each week celebrate our students diversity and individuality. Having the instrument parts, cables, and tiny resources fills in all of the gaps so that the kids can do what they're best at and what they love- performing for others!

Describe the Students

Our band program of about 200 kids includes both extraordinary performs that play at a collegiate level as well as a majority of the program, which is more rudimentary. Just over half of the band comes from low socioeconomic situations of need. Parent support varies. Most parents are not in a position to volunteer or contribute financially, but there students are very devoted to the band family and willing to help in other ways. Because of this, these students are truly worthy of the best support possible to enable them to reach their goals!

These simple sound resources will go a long way in making our sound engineering and electronics set up fully fleshed out!
