Goal

Our goal at Bay Point Middle is to create a school-wide culture that emphasizes the importance of academic growth and celebrates student achievement. In addition, we will be providing school wide incentives to increase student success by reinforcing students who demonstrate positive social behavior, follow school rules and are displaying PRIDE guidelines for success.

What will be done with my students

Bay Point MS will have school wide academic assemblies to honor students who receive Honor Roll or Principal's List. Scholars and their families will be invited to attend the assembly with a breakfast following. Scholars receiving high marks on common assessments throughout the school year will be recognized for their efforts through weekly personalized incentives.
Positive behavior will be recognized both through use of the Falcon Cart and Student of the Month celebrations. Students will be given Falcon Bucks for displaying PRIDE expectations. Falcon Bucks can be redeemed at the Falcon Cart twice per week during lunch. The Falcon Cart will be advertised on the school news and throughout the school.

Benefits to my students

The teachers and staff of Bay Point Middle believe having a school culture that emphasizes academic achievement is paramount. Students being aware of their academic status is key to their success. Students will have autonomy in self monitoring of their grades, test scores and overall academic success. A positive school culture where students are rewarded consistently for doing what is desired is a predictor for academic success and boosts student satisfaction. Encouragement for positive behavior will decrease office discipline referrals and increase instructional time.
