Goal

Our students will be actively engaging in science experiments, making predictions/hypothesis', taking data, and recording results throughout the year across all curriculum. We will reflect on what we have learned through our hands-on activities with peer collaboration, teacher made lessons, and informal assessments to show what we know.

What will be done with my students

Our students will be engaging in a variety of hands-on experiments throughout the year to encourage exploration and expansion of scientific knowledge .
We will be creating habitats for frogs, butterflies, plants and other animals/insects to explore Life Cycles and then connect the information to our own health and growth.
We will also be creating and working with Simple Machines, light, energy, sink and float and many other kid friendly experiments

Benefits to my students

The benefits to our students is to allow them to explore and expand their minds on making hypothesis', watching the changes during the experiments, and learning about the Scientific Method. They will be able to explore observations, and recognize that we need to recheck and repeat our theories as new information emerges.
Most importantly, we are encouraging life long learners and explorers who question the world around them and seek answers on their own.

Describe the Students

Our class is made up of general education students blended with ESE students for peer growth. We have students who are between 4 and 5 years of age. We have 2 classes whom we will be working with for a total of 40 students, and all of them will benefit from hands-on activities to acquire and cement their new knowledge being taught.

Budget Narrative

Our students and teachers will use these materials to encourage and enhance exploration and experimentation with creating and building, how things work and using predicting skills to foster our curiosity.
