Goal

Introduce children to technology at a young age to teach basic keyboarding skills and basic technology skills while differentiating instruction in language arts, math and critical thinking. 

 

What will be done with my students

Ipads will be used daily to differentiate instruction for struggling and advanced learners in the areas of reading/Language Arts, math, and critical thinking skills.
Students will participate in teacher specified intervention program and enrichment computer programs. Students will be instructed in basic tech skills such as logging on and off of an IPAD, opening and closing windows and caring for the device. 

 

Benefits to my students

Increase student engagement
Develop proficiency in technology skills as outlined above.
Differentiate language arts and math instruction
 

 

Describe the Students

Skycrest is a Title 1 school. I have 17 Kinder students
9 of the 17 are ESOL students
3 of 17 are non english speakers who would greatly benefit from vocabulary development in the English language.
3 of the 17 students are high performing as measured by standardized tests. (STAR Test)
All students in my class could benefit from the opportunity provided through this grant.
