Goal

To provide an opportunity for students in K-5 grade to participate in the Science Showcase. They will be able to learn the process of completing a Science Project, display it at our annuals Science Showcase and explain their learning.

What will be done with my students

Teachers of Kindergarten, First and Second grade will conduct one Science Fair project with their class. Third through fifth grade will have multiple small group projects. Each class will determine their experiment based on grade level standards. The projects will be completed in class and all materials will be provided. Upon completion of the projects, they will be scored using the Science Rubric. The boards will be placed on display in the cafeteria for a school showcase during the day. A Science Showcase after school will also occur. School based winners will be decided based on the rubric. All scholars will receive a participation ribbon. There will also be grade level winners.

Benefits to my students

Students will have the opportunity to showcase their science investigation. They will be able to work collaboratively on a grade level standards-based project that provides additional hands on learning, critical thinking and collaboration. All students will be able to participate.

Describe the Students
