Goal

To teach students how science, technology and engineering is used to solve real world problems that occur every day..

What will be done with my students

Students will use math and science concepts to determine how mass and angle effect the distance and speed of an object in an interactive STEM lesson followed by an opportunity to apply those learned skills while skating.

Benefits to my students

Students will be able to learn how Astro Skate uses science, technology and engineering to run their family fun centers. They will solve real world math problems that would occur every day in the skating centers. Students will make real world connections to skills taught in the classroom. Students will use math and science concepts to determine how mass and angle effect the distance and speed of an object in an interactive STEM lesson followed by an opportunity to apply those learned skills while skating.

Describe the Students

My students mostly come from low income, low socioeconomic families with little exposure to things outside of their neighborhood. Many of my students are low performing and have gaps in their education due to financial stability and poor health.
