Goal

By the end of the school year, at least 80% of AVID students will increase their knowledge of college and career readiness by participating in college campus and business tours. This will be for all grade levels, however, 100% of AVID Seniors will apply to 4 year universities or enroll in military.

What will be done with my students

We will be going on college tours to multiple universities around Florida so that my students can see the campus/university they are applying to. This will create college awareness for all grade levels, so by senior year, 100% of AVID students will apply to 4 year universities or enroll in the military.

Benefits to my students

This will benefit my students by having them be able to actually see the college campus they are applying to. Many of them do not have the transportation means to travel and see the university they want to go to in person - they only see pictures on the college websites. This will create great college awareness for my AVID classes, in which these students are first in their family to attend college.
