Goal

The goal of this request is to provide flexible, non-traditional seating for my Kindergarten students. These options will allow students to feel empowered in their choice and comfortable in their classroom.

What will be done with my students

Flexible seating will allow our students to feel a sense of ownership in our classroom. Students will be able to choose flexible seating options throughout the day, giving them the freedom to learn in a way that is most beneficial to them. A variety of options will be offered to fit the needs of all.

Benefits to my students

This classroom environment allows for movement which is essential for our young learners. Children will be able to choose from various seating and we will discuss how to make educated choices that will best foster our learning. Flexible seating has been shown to allow for sensory input which benefits all students, especially those with special needs.

Describe the Students

Students at my school are typically from low socioeconomic backgrounds. The children in my classroom.have a wide range of academic ability, many of them being in school for the first time.
