Goal

To provide students with technology that enables them to have experiences that enrich their educational experiences by immersing them into a 3-D world. This interactive world will help them develop a perspective on the unit of study they might not otherwise have access to within the confines of a classroom.

What will be done with my students

This technology will be used as part of the lesson plans and curriculum within the classroom setting. This will be used for various classrooms, not only within the Science Department, but across various content areas.

Benefits to my students

The devices will allow other teachers and I to provide augmented and virtual reality content in the classroom. Virtual reality will allow students to experience content beyond the pages the textbook. Augmented reality, with the use of special documents, will take a 2-dimensional image and convert it to a 3-dimensional image, allowing students to interact with the image in different ways. The device can also be used across curriculum, such as Social Studies, English, Mathematics and Aerospace.
This technology will also be beneficial to our ESE/ELL population, because many of these students learn in a non-traditional format. The technology comes with curriculum, lesson plans, and augmented reality documents and virtual reality videos. These resources are available in several languages for use with our ELL population, and scaffolded to meet the needs of all students.

Describe the Students

The students are high performers, however, some require accommodations and modifications. Since we will be using this across other content areas, we will be reaching all student learners, e.g. ELL, ESE and 504 students.

Budget Narrative

The cost is for a class set of 32, online training for teachers and access to annual resources that all teachers within the school can use.
