Goal

As I look around at how much we are asking day in and day out of the students in our classrooms, my goal is to create a functional, but fun, learning environment that promotes engagement and productivity.

What will be done with my students

Each student will have access to a ball chair to use throughout the day instead of a standard classroom desk chair. The wobble chairs will be used at our classroom computer tables.

Benefits to my students

By utilizing flexible seating options in our classroom, there are many benefits! These benefits include but are not limited to..
*increased motivation
*opportunities for movement which is directly linked to higher academic performance, better health, and improved behavior
*increased focus for students who have ADD / ADHD or have sensory issues
*improved overall posture
*improved core strength

Describe the Students

As with every classroom across our nation, I have students with varying needs. Some need remediation and some need enrichment. Some need constant support and others are very independently motivated.

I have 6 students who have ADD, ADHD, and/or sensory issues. For these students there is a constant need for movement.

Budget Narrative

The items included in my budget would add to existing items that I currently have for flexible seating options.
