Goal

My students have significant emotional and behavioral issues and often do not view themselves positively. The goal of this project is to capture my students in pictures when they are being successful in school.

What will be done with my students

Pictures will be taken during events when my students are experiencing success. This may be at Citizen of the Month, Student of the Week, Open House, the Principals' Breakfast, during Running Club , in the classroom or even in the hallway. Pictures will then be displayed on bulletin boards throughout the school. Additionally, framed copies will be sent home with my students so their families can share their success.

Benefits to my students

We have done this at our school for several years and our students love it!! They pose and smile and look so proud!! It does wonders for their self esteem. They are pleased to see their pictures posted around the school and thrilled to bring home copies to their families. Parents and family members have commented that they appreciate receiving the pictures.

Describe the Students

Many of our students are economically disadvantaged, demonstrate low academic performance, experience behavioral difficulties and mental health issues and a significant number live in single parent families. Our school receives Universal Free Lunch for students and is a Title I School. All of my students receive Exceptional Education Services (ESE) including services for students with Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Specific Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, Speech and Language Impairments and Occupational Therapy.

Budget Narrative

All grant money will be used to process the photos and buy frames to send pictures home.
