Goal

To increase literacy and stamina for reading with the Access students in their ELA class. 

 

What will be done with my students

My students will read the novel, "A Land Remembered" each day in ELA class for 20 minutes to increase their understanding of Florida History, comprehension of text, new vocabulary, and building stamina for focus when reading. 

 

Benefits to my students

Students will increase basic literacy elements and improve imagination as well as understanding Florida History in a format that captures their interest. 

 

Describe the Students

My students are Access students, grades 9-12. Class sizes and abilities vary. 

 

Budget Narrative

The cost of each book is $13.46. The classroom set will allow each student to have a book while doing round robin and small group reading and activities.
