Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 42

Thank you so much for providing this worthy initiative. the students in Introduction to Sales, Service and Marketng class were able to design a logo for a school shirt, advertise and market the product, and sell them to earn lunch money for a trip to the Florida Aquarium. The CEO of the florida Aquarium provided time for him to come to our classroom to encourage the students and talk about marketing, we will meet him when we go on the trip.  In addition, one of his marketing team members met with us via zoom to discuss the best ways to market and produce a product that meets the market needs.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

The Intro to Marketing, Sales and Service classes sell T-shirts in the courtyard before school that they will tie-dye.

What will be done with my students

We will purchase the shirts at the beginning of the year. The shirts are white with the logo on it. We use the money to purchase a printed white T-shirt with our school logo on the shirt. If we have this start-up cost, then, the class could offer an incentive to have a celebration with the profits at the end of the year.

Benefits to my students

he students must shop for and compare the price of tie-dye, come up with a materials list, a scope for the project, and deadlines. the scholars learn about the formulas for deciding on profit margins, make decisions on how best to market the product, create a product that appeals to our target audience, and learn what profit and loss is. SMART goals, project management, collaboration, critical thinking. This meets the requirements for state standards for the IMSS class, offers an immersive experience and provides ownership of their learning using all WICOR strategies.
