The goal is for students to implement 2D creative planning, organization, and artistic skills to create 3D original, functional, & relevant artwork in VR using Oculus Headset and controllers to produce functional and sustainable products using the 3D printer as globally minded students.
Students will be learning the design and real world creation process. Students will start with a brainstorming exercise on the needs of the global community to create a produce a sustainable product. Data will be recorded in a sketchbook for ideas, sketches, and layout of the idea intended. Next, students will take their 2D drawing in VR using the Oculus headset and the app Gravity Sketch to turn their idea into a 3D design. That design will then be transferred to a 3D printer to be produced. Then all work will be displayed and awarded for their significance to sustainability and globalization.
Real world experience with the creation process using relevant and advanced technology that may be a requirement in today's world. Also, hands-on experience with skills that teach students the design/creation process, organization skills, planning skills, 2D to 3D artistic concepts, communication and collaboration skills.
