Tash Elwyn - $934.40
To purchase a set of TI-30xa scientific calculators for check out by underserved students to increase their achievement in our cross-curricular math teaching initiative.
My students are all in Career Technical Education fields. In the Certified Nursing Assistant and Veterinary Assistant programs we will be doing pharmacology math. In Construction, Electrical and Marine Mechanics we will be working on olms and amps. Our Game and Simulation program and Industrial Graphic Design program will be doing coding math and conceptual math including proportions and ratios.
Our math projects include all the types of math discussed and more, making a good calculator a necessity. For our cross-curricular initiative to flourish, all our students need access to good calculators, that can handle these tasks and offer students their best opportunity for success inclusively.
Our program population is very diverse and consists of 12% of students with ESE accommodations, 19% have 504 accommodations and 45% of our students are on free and reduced lunch. The male to female population is equally split and I have a good mix of low and high performers. All my students, however, are highly dedicated and eager to learn; they take school very seriously and look forward to college and beyond while working in their chosen trade.
We will purchase 64 TI 30xa Scientific Calculators at the cost of $14.60 each
