Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Raymond James - $1,000.00
To give students in the STEM Digital Design program and non-STEM students the necessary materials to publish their graphic designs using professional-grade digital print production equipment.
In my Communications Technology classes, students get hands-on experience using modern printshop equipment to publish designs they create in professional Adobe graphic design software. Students use vinyl plotters, digital direct-to-garment printers, silkscreen printing presses, and digital presses to create professional-looking marketing collateral such as event tickets, flyers, letterhead, and posters; vinyl banners and stickers; and t-shirts. This grant will allow me to purchase silkscreen and vinyl printing supplies for class use.
Students develop entry-level skills required for careers in graphic arts while creating a portfolio for future college and career applications. Students also have the opportunity to earn industry certification in Adobe software applications, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
My students come from all high school grade levels (9-12) and performance levels (from low to high). However, as this is my first year teaching at Countryside, I do not know the official demographic characteristics of all students registered in my courses. So instead, I've listed the school student demographic profile published on the FL DOE website for the 2021-22 school year.
